Alex Corder will be running a Vintage Film Club the first Saturday every month at Jellyfish – starting with Saturday the 6th of February screening two films – “The Kid” by Charlie Chaplin and “The Dead of Night” starring Michael Redgrave.

Life drawing session

Our next Life Drawing session is on Tuesday the 16th of February from 7.30 – 9.30pm with a female model. These sessions are with model only, so please bring your own materials. £7 per person.

Silent & Mindful Movement Practice with Leela Fisk every Wednesday in February from 9.15am-10.30am.

Silent sit & mindful movement practice – Wednesday mornings with Leela.
A chance to wake the day with silence & self-led movement to music. 15 mins of silent sitting to begin, 50 mins movement to diverse music, 5 mins silent sit to close. Leela is an experienced teacher of Soul Motion™ dance practice locally & internationally. She is a Soul Motion™ school mentor for apprentice leaders.

Film Screening Friday 12th of Feb from 7pm:

Another pearl of a film for you all this February:
“Pelle the Conqueror” by Bille August. (1987, running time 157min)

Late 19th Century – Lasse and his son Pelle move to Denmark to find work. They find employment at a large farm, but are treated as the lowest form of life. Pelle starts to speak Danish but is still harassed as a foreigner – but none of them wants to give up their dream of finding a better life than the life they left in Sweden.

Entry £3 – bar open. There will be an intro at 7.20pm. Film starts at 7.30pm. You are most welcome to stay for a discussion after the film.

Lisa Class – Chinese Brush Painting Workshop

Workshop: Saturday the 27th of Feb 10.30am-12.30pm

Come to this exciting workshop of Chinese Brush Painting. Here you will discover how to use these ancient materials (dating back 4000 years) and create two compositions. One with black Chinese ink and rice paper and the other using vibrant colours.

The workshops suits children & adults – also a lovely thing to do together
All materials provided and you can take your artwork home

An end of day yoga class to restore and strengthen us in body, mind and spirit.
With a focus on good, comfortable posture and breathing; strength and stability of core muscles; safe practice; overall integrity (physical emotional mental spiritual)
Over the course of a lifetime our needs change. The breadth and depth of yoga practices available to us means that yoga remains a lifelong practice. Research shows that in the long term yoga is more effective than other therapies in helping to maintain physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. With 25 years of teaching experience as a qualified yoga teacher and therapist and many years more of my own yoga practice, I aim to support each person as they explore yoga as a way of meeting their ever changing, individual needs.

If you are looking for volunteers or would like a job as volunteer within our wonderful community, Teignbridge CVS have a display of posts and information in Jellyfish, so do come and have a look or find out more.

Jellyfish Cafe/Bar and Gallery

is open from 12-6pm Tues-Fri and 3-6pm on Saturdays (or by appointment).

We sell organic espresso coffee and hot choc & tea from local producer Owens Coffee. Soft drinks from local producer Luscombe Drinks and delicious biodynamic cordials from Derek Lapworth, Buckfastleigh.
We also sell Roots vegetable crisps and home made spelt flour waffles cooked fresh on the spot 🙂
Lisa Beale from Cake Creations Devon is providing us with delicious homemade cakes weekly.
Jellyfish cafe/bar is fully licensed and have Luscombe Cider, Jale Ale, lager, prosecco, white & red wine on the menu.

Jellyfish’s event, family or portrait photoshoots can be booked in the studio or on location. £25 for 1/2h.
